Situated in the beautiful valley of Houtboshoek we are only 48km from Nelspruit and a mere 100km from the Kruger National Park.
Caracal Lodge offers various self-catering luxury cottages, each uniquely designed by the owners, giving each cottage / lodge an individual look and feel. As well as our newly opened Farm Stay “Thys se Place” for larger group bookings.
Caracal Lodge is surrounded by beautiful grassy mountains, home to the Mountain Reedbuck, Grey Rhebuck, Oribi and Bushbuck which roam freely in the area. Caracal Lodge boasts 300ha of unspoiled nature, completely game fenced and home to the various species of game that have been introduced to the area.
Game in this area include, Impala, Livingstone Eland, Zebra, Nyala, Kudu, and Giraffe. The shy Red duiker is often seen furtively feeding off the lawns of our three rustic bush lodges.
Guests can hike safely or take a 4×4 drive around the ranch to enjoy the breathtaking views of our beautiful valley while game viewing at the same time.
Caracal Lodge boasts a mountain stream with crystal clear mountain water which feeds our spectacular waterfall. Guests are invited to enjoy a picnic, braai or sundowners under the shade of the forest that surrounds it.
